Bryce Canyon National Park, A Perfect Place in Utah to Elope
Utah is home to so many of America’s national treasures it is hard to pick which state or national park to visit, let alone have the wedding or elopement of your dreams in. Utah boasts the five most breathtaking national parks: Arches National Park, Canyonlands National Park, Capitol Reef National Park, Bryce Canyon National Park, and Zion National Park. As if narrowing down the options were not hard enough, Utah also has 43 awesome state parks. Many of their vistas rival any national park. Too many to cover all of them here, but some of my favorites are Goblin Valley State Park, Snow Canyon State Park, and Kodachrome Basin State Park. Any of these choices are worth a hard look and contemplation.
One to consider for sure is Bryce Canyon National Park. The park’s unique geology gives it equally unique formation. The iron rich soil and rocks give it a vibrant orange hue. The textures of the landscape give it a pleasant contrast to a formal wedding gown.
Near by lodges make the park an easy place to visit without long drives back to your room. The park has modern facilities and parking. You can have a mountain top experience with only 50 yards of walking on flat paved paths.
Bryce Canyon allows horseback rides through the park. You can get to trails and location only accessible by horseback, so it it a great activity to add to your plan before or after your wedding. There is only one outfitter that is allowed to take rides inside the park, others have horseback rides around the area that are also beautiful.
Permits are required, so do not forget to submit for yours plenty early. There are two locations where weddings are allowed for you to choose from. For more information on applying for your Bryce Canyon National Park wedding permit visit nps.gov/brca/planyourvisit/married for all the details.
Now that you have found the love of your life and the perfect place to run off to, all you have left is to find an officiant to get you married and a photographer to capture the moment. I happen to know an officiant, so if you decide to get married in Bryce Canyon National Park, or any of our parks, reach out to me. I would love to be a small part of your magical day. I also happen to know a few great photographers too.
And as always, travel safe out there.
