SPECIAL USE PERMIT.

Steps to get a Special Use Permit

  1. Complete Application

  2. Pay Application Fee

  3. Submit Application

1. Apply For Your Special Use Permit

The application form for all National Park Special Use Permits (SUP) is the NPS Form 10-930. Bryce Canyon National Park offers a short form version for simple weddings. Use this form when applying for your SUP.

2. Pay Fee-

The cost of the permit application is $100.00 and this can only be paid online at Pay.gov. This covers the cost of processing the permit and administrative costs, and applications will not be processed until this fee is received. Note that this fee does not cover access into the park.

3. Submit Application

Once complete, e-mail your application to brca_sup@nps.gov. In the subject line you must include "Getting Married at Bryce Canyon" and it is a good idea to also include your last name and the date of your wedding.

Applications must be submitted at least three weeks in advance of your wedding day. This gives the commercial services folks at the park time to review, consider, make determination on approval, and send out notice of approval or disapproval. It is highly recommended that you apply for your permit as soon as possible. This allows you time to adjust your plans in the event your application is denied.

AFTER YOU APPLY

You will receive email notification of your application’s approval or disapproval. Monitor your email for updates from the park. On some occasions additional information may be needed.

IF YOU ARE APPROVED- Bring a copy of your permit with you to the location on the day of your wedding.

IF YOU ARE NOT APPROVED- There are a couple of options for you if your application is disapproved:

  • Apply again- If time allows you can apply again for a different date or different location.

  • Locations out of the park- There are many beautiful locations just outside the park that offer similar views and more seclusion. It is important that you work with a local vendor if you plan to find a location outside the park. Do not rely on navigation apps or social media to give your accurate information!

BEST TIME TO GET MARRIED IN BRYCE CANYON NATIONAL PARK.

It is important to know the average temperatures for the time you plan to visit. It is also important to know the record highs and lows. Pack and plan for the records and hope for the average. Because of Bryce Canyon National Park’s elevation it is much cooler than Zion National Park. This makes Bryce Canyon a great alternative to Zion during the summer months, but may not be what you want in the winter months. While Zion rarely gets a dusting of snow Bryce Canyon has seen 6 and a half feet of snow in one month. While the average lows in the winter are in the teens it regularly gets below zero.
