RIP in the Chat for Lambs Knoll Weddings
Can I get a RIP in the chat for Lambs Knoll? Weddings there have left the thread. ☹
BLM land is a great place to have adventure weddings. But, like all good things, they must be taken care of. Lambs Knoll has long been one of my favorite places to officiate weddings. This great spot is the latest casualty of people not caring enough about the land we share. To many people have used this spot and not been good stewards. Without fail, every single time I have done a wedding there I have left with ruminates of other people’s wedding debris. From tissues, champagne corks foil, to water bottles I have been cleaning up after careless officiants, planners, families, and couples.
BLM has now announced that they will no longer allow weddings at this location. This is a loss for everyone. This is not an isolated situation. If we do not all do our part, we will lose more and more locations.
We must respect the rules that have been put in place. This includes not having weddings where they are no longer allowed. If your wedding planner, photographer, or officiant tells you that you can have your wedding or elopement at Lambs Knoll they are wrong. They are either misinformed or worse, lying to you.
To have a wedding in a place that does not normally allow them requires a special permit that the BLM is not issuing. To have a wedding, or participate in a wedding, in a restricted area without a permit is a Federal Class A Misdemeanor punishable by up to a $100,000- fine, and 12-months imprisonment. Do let someone else’s lack of judgment put you and your wedding in this position. The forest rangers interrupting your wedding would make it memorable, but not the way you want it to be.
Wherever you have your wedding, please respect the area. And only book with vendors that respect our lands. Visit my Featured Vendors tab to see some of the vendors that I trust and have worked with.
